Onomatopoeia.club

Onomatopoeia.club is a curated channel by where sound and visual artists can experiment, collaborate and connect with each other, with a twist: the format for Onomatopoeia.club collaborations is a 30 sec long game of audio-visual consequences, so every work featured is the result of the same process.

The curatorial team of Onomatopoeia.club begins by approaching visual artists and inviting them to create a 10-second looping video. Their video is looped three times and the curatorial team then invites a sound artist to create a soundtrack to the 30-second looped video. The resulting collaborative works are then published as an online zine.

Onomatopoeia.club will be released quarterly and each issue will feature 10 to 15 audio-visual collaborations. Every week from release, we’ll be spotlighting two collaborations on our social media channels.. As the community grows additional features, including interviews, behind-the-scenes exposes, themed issues, guest curators and more will be added. We hope Onomatopoeia.club will become a way for creators who wouldn’t normally have the chance to cross paths to collaborate and platform their work, but also serve as a kind of audio-visual resource for creative talent. We are committed to equality and aim to involve a diverse mix of creators.
