Filmotype York on the cover of Grand Hotel, designed by Spencer Zahn with photography by Jeffrey Weisel, and released by Chrysalis Records.

Filmotype’s naming system organized each typeface in their library by style, using the initial letter. Formal scripts started with the letter Z, see Zanzibar, Zeal, Zephyr, etc. At some point between 1955 and 1958, they must have run out of ideas for names starting with Z, and switched to the letter Y. In addition to York, there’s also Yale or Yukon. First issued in 1958, York was digitized by Patrick Griffin in 2014.

From Wikipedia:

Grand Hotel is the sixth studio album by Procol Harum. Released in 1973, it signalled a change of direction for the band. Guitarist Dave Ball who had joined the band for their live album the previous year left shortly after the photo shoot for the proposed album’s cover to be replaced by Mick Grabham. Grabham’s head was superimposed on the front and back cover of the album on Ball’s body.
