France, Cote d’Azur – Corsica SNCF travel brochure (1960)

One of the long running annual series of leaflets/brochures issued by the SNCF – Société Nationale des Chemins de Fer Français – on the regions of France. I have steadily grown to rather like French railway publicity from the 1950s and early 1960s before they, like BR, moved away from commissioned artworks to photography for both posters and publicity. This is the English language edition for the Cote d’Azur and Corsica issued in 1960 and with a superb cover by Guy Georges-Perceval.
Like on cover of the French Alps – Côte d’Azur brochure from the previous year, the typeface is Vendôme, here in all caps from the gras (bold, 1952) weight.
