Bobbie Gentry (b. 1942) “was one of the first female artists to compose and produce her own material” [Wikipedia]. In 1968, she won two Grammy award for for “Best New Artist” and “Best Female Pop Vocal Performance” following her success with the song “Ode to Billy Joe”.

Bobbie Gentry and Glen Campbell is Gentry’s third(!) album release of 1968 with Capitol Records: an album of duets with label mate Glen Campbell (1936–2017). The uncredited typographer assigned a serif (Pistilli Roman) to her, and a sans (Helvetica) to him.

Cover photography by Dick Brown/Capitol Studio.
