Found among an advertised list of “Books and Pamphlets on social culture and the domestic sciences and arts” published by the Butterick Publishing Company (Ltd.). The advertisement appears in the July 1897 edition of the American edition of The Delineator.
Headlines are set in Lafayette, paired with two yet unidentified typefaces, a generic 19th century grotesque and a Didone italic. The former is likely a forerunner to Alternate Gothic. Both Jefferson and Alternate Gothic were owned by ATF and it would make sense that they came from the same foundry.
