See What Can be Done is a collection of essays, criticism and commentary by Lorrie Moore, originally written for The New York Review of Books and first published in book form by Knopf in April 2018. The cover for the UK edition by Faber & Faber was designed by Jonny Pelham. See what can be done with an unassuming letter e

I noticed that every word contained either an ‘a’ or an ‘e’ and that instead of substituting one for the other it might be possible to emphasise ‘process’, as implied in the title, by reintroducing the sense of movement I’d liked from one of the earlier visuals.

You can read about the process behind this cover on the Faber blog.
