Henkel’s Eiereinlegemittel packaging

Packaging for a water-soluble powder for preserving raw eggs, produced by Henkel. The use of Deutschland (Berthold, 1933) for the product name suggests a date in the 1930s or early 1940s. It’s combined with several styles from the Futura series, including the Condensed for “Huhn im Winter” (“chicken in winter”).
Note the use of a ck ligature (or tightly fitted pair) in “trocken” and of letterspacing for emphasis in “Leere Packung muß zum Absender zurück!” (“Empty pack must be returned to sender!”). Unlike in English, the use of a possessive apostrophe had fallen out of favor in German spelling already back then. It can still be found in brand names like Beck’s. Punctuation like exclamation marks is generally not preceded by white space.
