Located in the heart of Buda, Mandragòra is a family-owned restaurant offering modern interpretations of various traditional Hungarian cuisine. In the beginning, the place started as a club-like bar which, over the years, has transformed into a fine-bistro-style restaurant without losing their special intimate atmosphere. They take traditional Hungarian dishes and reimagine them in a slightly more delicate and refined way.

The restaurant recently went through a major remodeling and the new visual identity was created along with renovations in the interior and kitchen. The branding and the interior design take their inspiration from the restaurant’s name Mandragòra (Mandrake) using botanical elements, hand-drawn gestures, and a green color scheme to set the tone for a mysterious experience. Inspired by the magical plant, the identity aims to capture a unique mix of Ogg’s calligraphic and typographic forms complemented with a natural motif in perfect harmony. With developing the new design concept, the goal was to embrace the restaurant’s new atmosphere and create an unforgettable experience that engages not just our taste, but all of the senses.
