The typography selected for the picture books is OmoType, a humanistic handmade font with less complex shapes and improved character recognition perfect for younger readers. OmoType’s design elements make it amazing both for kids with regular and low reading ability as well as children with reading difficulties.
To support and empower children to communicate their fears, Omoguru has published a picture book called Čovječuljci / Tiny people. The story by Ula Reić is about fears that live inside everyone’s minds and grow bigger until we speak about them. The texts are adapted for children with dyslexia and other reading difficulties, and set in our dyslexia-friendly font Omotype Sans. The amazing dreamy illustrations were drawn by Ivana Radić.
Zvijezda koja čita / The Reading Star is the second picture book in our series. It explores the challenges of struggling readers in a classroom environment. Like the first publication, the story was written by Ula Reić. The colourful illustrations are made by Rina Barbarić.
