MGB Patrician made frequent appearances on book jackets. It fact, it was Don Munson, former art director at Ballantine Books, who designed it. Its swashes — often misused on other covers — are well placed here, and the spacing is properly tight. The Darker Side of Virtue is described as a “provocative exposé” on Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (Mormon) society. Patrician certainly lends a foreboding darkness to the title.
