Fukt (Swedish for “moist”) is one of the world’s leading, engaging and inspiring drawing magazines with a bi-annual appearance. Each issue comes with a unique cover by designer and art director Ariane Spanier who also co-edits the magazine.

Issue #19, “The Storylines Issue”, was created during the COVID-19 pandemic and looks at the art of narration in drawing. “In times of global threats — from the pandemic to climate change, senseless politics, and periods confined to our homes — we may long for stories more than ever”. Magazine Founder Björn Hegardt says “Stories that let us see the world through the eyes of others and help us to make sense of it all, allowing us to remember and to imagine, to understand the unfamiliar, the strange and unknown.”

The magazine (23×17 cm, 232 pages) shows contributions from established artists like Chris Ware, Toyin Ojih Odutola and Brian Rea, and emerging artists like Maria Paz and Xiyu Tomorrow.

Awarded by the Type Directors Club New York, Fukt #19 is widely using Grand Slang from Nikolas Type, while running texts use Adobe Garamond and Alliance No.1.
