The Young Generation – The Young Generation album art

Relating to the other contribution I have made earlier today of The Best Of The Young Generation album of 1974, this is an earlier album of theirs – their debut, indeed – from half-a-decade earlier, where the Nigel Lythgoe, Leslie Judd, and Wei Wei Wong referred to in that entry were still very much present in the line-up – Nigel, I think, being the one in the middle of the row leaping up in the air at the back, Leslie being the one on the far right-hand side of the row immediately in front, and the almost unmistakeable Wei Wei being at the far right-hand side of the second row, these particularly prominent members of the troupe, founded by Nottingham-born Dougie Squires, being later respectively known for their associations with, variously, the TV shows So You Think You Can Dance, Blue Peter, and The Golden Shot, the last of these also with the James Bond franchise.

The title on the front and rear cover is in Jim Crow, with the rest of the text appearing to be in Univers. The BBC logo was, at that time, in Univers, this transmogrification of that logo being current from 1963 to 1971.

The record was produced for BBC TV by Stewart Morris and Norman Newell. The sleeve was designed by Roy Curtis-Bramwell and printed by E. J. Day, London. The reference no. of the album is REB 51S. As in the case of The Best Of The Young Generation album, the photography on the sleeve is unfortunately uncredited.
