Although it has the same title as Gene Chandler’s debut album from 1962, this Duke Of Earl issued by Upfront Records in 1968 is actually a compilation with a different track list, “selected from Vee-Jay Archives on the basis of their nostalgic quality”. Columbus is here used with its alternate swash caps. The song names are set in Cloister Bold, with the initial swash D taken from the Bold Italic.
