Emtype Foundry’s Ciutadella and Commercial Type’s Publico are being paired for the visual identity of The Stand, “a visionary platform where art sales fund a better world.” The logo is based on Lausanne by Type.Weltkern.
Responding to the pre-pandemic art market, and inspired by recent, transformative developments in the ways we live, work and use technology, a collective of art world professionals saw new way to support artists and philanthropic causes. The Stand is a digital platform where selling art, supporting artists, and benefitting social causes form a virtuous circle.
Each auction hosted by The Stand is thoughtfully curated by collaborators who share the collective’s passion for contemporary art. Guest curators will champion some of the world’s most exciting rising stars in the art world with the majority of the hammer price going directly to the artist, 20% to partner charities and 10% to The Stand to cover costs. By properly rewarding artists and enabling them to donate to social causes, their best work is submitted for auction. As a form of social impact investing, The Stand offers the dual purpose of supporting artists and also the causes they care about.
