Romvis is a small pedestrian zone intersecting with Hermes street at the very center of Athens. It is a part of the historic textile retailers locality, as traced and mapped by the Άστυ team in 2014. (source: Lifo)

Signs for street names and house numbers, being the responsibility of the different municipalities of Athens and Greece, present a generally non-uniform image combining various styles of different decades. In most cases the typeface to be used is not even included in the technical specifications for the signage of each municipality (as in the case of the municipality of Galatsi in Athens, or Heraklion in Creta.)

Due to this seemingly unregulated signage situation, signs as the nr. 20 of Romvis Str. can appear. The depicted sign, found on the facade of a craft and textile shop, features numerals loosely based on Jackson, a probably unusual but beautiful choice for a house number sign.
