“Bruce Lee Chicken Rice” is a Chinese restaurant and food stand store in Singapore. I was particularly struck by the use of Chinese Dragon, a “Chop Suey” style font – a genre of foreign-looking typefaces meant to mimic Chinese calligraphy. The Chop Suey genre has been disputed over its intentions. It can be seen as either culturally insensitive or purely amusing. Nonetheless, despite the criticism, the style continues to be used by native Chinese communities.
