Wacken Open Air logo

Framed with skulls, the giant Wacken logo made of steel welcomes the visitors at the festival venue.
And yes, of course the kerning is wack.

Wacken Open Air (W:O:A) is the world’s largest heavy metal music festival. The logo with the chunky wedge serifs is set in Latin. It is not quite clear whether it is a squooshed Latin Wide or whether they used CastleType’s Latin CT Not Wide. The Wacken folks certainly weren’t shy about squeezing type until it fits.
