The Trump-Gravur currently corresponds to the Gravur-AR. The Gmuender Gravur is similar, as the link shows.
Correct. That info can also be found on the typeface page.
Sorry, I didn’t check that. Otherwise I would have spared the reader the sentence. But what I might say is that I like the Gravur-AR almost better than the Gmuender-Gravur; if it weren’t for the smear of the R, which unfortunately turns out to be inappropriately short.
No problem, Kurt! I added that link because some readers are not aware that we provide more info on the typeface pages. They list designer credits and release dates, and often also info about revivals and related typefaces, and provide links to specimens and reviews.
The leg of R is indeed weirdly short in Gravur-AR, but at least that’s faithful to Trump’s original.
For Gmuender-Gravur: it’s a shame that Ralph Unger doesn’t mention the source of his revival with a single word, and also that MyFonts doesn’t care. Their submission guidelines require “proper attribution to the original designer”, but this isn’t enforced.
Forget MyFonts! They do as little as possible; as like many employees, by the way, who prefer to make themselves comfortable instead of fulfilling their employment contract. After several dozen suggestions for improvement I made there, I’ve moved on to informing the designers myself. This has often been difficult because it is not always easy to get to the address. At MyFonts I have since deleted my account. I prefer FontShop, which Erik unfortunately sold to the same group.
