Rony Rex – Direct Me EP
Last week Rony Vartio a.k.a. Rony Rex released his Direct Me EP and I was once again responsible for the visuals and typography for the main and previous single cover artworks of this release.
The typeface used here is Brice by Studio Sun, a strong and bold look that perfectly resembles the language used in the tracks and the ordinary AI-developed artwork behind each cover. These were created by a modern software called Midjourney, where with just a few tags an idea in your head is visualized. Rony’s music is a bubbly, quirky and housey mix of influences coming together as something that is heavily club culture focused, but doesn’t sway away from flirting with pop and indie soundscapes. There must be something to it as Rony’s tunes have been picked up by brands like Yves Saint Laurent, Stella McCartney, Nickelodeon and many others on the regular.
