Korea International Art Fair 2021
Kiaf, the Korea International Art Fair, celebrated its 20th anniversary in 2021 with a new identity designed by Seoul-based Studio fnt. From the studio’s case study:
We tried to capture the reputation of Kiaf that has been established as Korea’s representative contemporary art platform, while incorporating its future direction of portraying a younger, and more flexible look and feel.
The event’s branding and editorial design leans heavily on geometric patterns, along with the typeface MD Nichrome (used mostly in all-caps).
The Kiaf logo is a modified version of the same typeface, with the K and f significantly altered. Throughout the identity, the circular uppercase letter O is used in place of the oval digit 0.
The geometric patterns throughout Kiaf’s identity are originally abstracted from the letters ‘Kiaf’, which can be seen on this poster from the exhibition space.
