During almost twenty years contemporary music in Croatia lives through the activities of the Cantus Ensemble, which is Croatia’s finest ensemble that specializes in contemporary classical music. It was founded in 2001 in order to explore, discover and present new and hitherto unexplored spheres of New Music. (…) The Ensemble has become an important and indispensable figure at the Croatian music scene, and from 2006 it has hosted its own concert cycle. (…) One of the major components of this Ensemble’s activities are their guest performances at the leading festivals of contemporary music.
The poster series for the 2021/22 concert season of Cantus Ansambl was conceived as a uniformed series defined by three overlapping layers. The change of programme and date information are emphasised by the change of colors in the gradient background. A grain effect was used as a means to avoid banding in both digital print and on-screen appearance.
NN Nouvelle Grotesk was selected for its refined typographic details in lowercase letterforms, as well as the rational but stylistically distinct uppercase. Also, additional features like alternate characters and tabular figures were one of the decisive factors.
