On the occasion of the exhibition of works by the OPAL Künstlergruppe at the Museum der bildenden Künste in Leipzig in 2020 a catalog was published with contributions by Rainer Behrends, Beate Reese, and Alexandra Liebherr. The volume bears the signature of the OPAL artists group and reflects their guideline of constructed seriality.

From Museum der bildenden Künste (translated):

For ten years, the Leipzig artists Johannes Keller (*1936), Hans-Christian Neumann (*1943) and Daniel Reimer (*1984) have been working together as the OPAL artists group. The name quotes Lessing’s ring parable “The stone was an opal that played a hundred beautiful colors” (Nathan the Wise III, 7). The artists of the group are dedicated to constructive-concrete art, their form is the square. The works are always created collaboratively, each work has three authors. In recent years, paintings, sculptures, reliefs and typographic sheets have been created, which are presented comprehensively for the first time in the exhibition beispiel konkret.

Reform-Grotesk FSL in Regular and Italic is used throughout the entire publication in its variant Reform-Grotesk A – for headlines, body text and footnotes. The cover is set in Typewriter Serial by SoftMaker.
