With this series of geometric collages made with found photographs, Susana Blasco delves into her most recurrent obsessions: the passage of time, women, fragmentation, compulsive order and non-color.
It is a walk through rescued memory, through fictionalized oblivion. The fruit of a distracted memory and of invented absences. Portraits of no one. Of someone. Of all. Cut out – remembered. And painstakingly recomposed with lights and shadows, with truths and lies.
These intervened photographs of anonymous women are visual labyrinths, winks at legibility, analog glitches. And they speak to us of the ephemeral and the complex, of the loss of youth and of farewells.
