Masayoshi Takanaka’s All of Me album cover (English version) features the Japanese artist skydiving over an island on the Pacific Ocean. The album is a compilation of Masayoshi’s previous works, such as the jazz-fusion-samba song “Star Wars Samba” from the artist’s Brasilian Skies (1978) album and many others. First released in 1979 by Kitty Records, the album was reissued several times since.

Takanaka’s name is set in caps from what appears to be Helvetica Bold Italic, on top of the album title in Modern No. 20.

  1. Hi, do you know and do you think that this cover with the island in the background is a reference to another famous Japanese funk album released one year earlier, the album of Haruomi Hosono, Shigeru Suzuki & Tatsuro Yamashita – Pacific ?

  2. It’s not a reference but in that era of Japanese music there was a lot of themes of NYC, LA or tropical scenery in the album covers, better known as City Pop these days.
