This notebook-sized catalog, published on the occasion of the exhibition La SIP, du microscope à la machine-outil held at the Musée d’histoire des sciences in 2006, sets out to illustrate the astonishing industrial epic of the Société Genevoise d’instruments de physique (SIP), from its creation in 1862 until the 1950s through a number of emblematic objects of the exhibition.

Designer Mathieu Christe chose Jigsaw Stencil (designed by Johanna Biľak) for headlines, and paired it with body text set in Odile by Sibylle Hagmann. See a previous post by Kontour for an extensive description of Odile’s history and design traits.
