The Maśniaki ensemble was established in 1967 at the General Board of the Podhale Association as “the Podhale People’s Theater”, later operating as the “Maśniaki Song and Dance Ensemble”.
This eponymous album was recorded in 1978, and released by Polskie Nagrania Muza. The artwork by Jan Żabko-Potapowicz features the group’s name in New Zelek. The subtitle, in Polish (“Zespół z Zakopanego”) and English (“Folk group from Zakopane”) is set in Univers. The geometric sans on the back cover is Super-Grotesk (Schriftguss, 1930), a Futura follower that was produced by East German foundry Typoart.
