De Vinne was very common in American posters, magazines, and advertising after its release in 1892. In about 30 years or so, the appetite for quaint roman faces like De Vinne dried up and it disappeared from the ATF catalog. Phototype followers like Romana, Hawthorn and ITC Bernase took its place, but were not nearly as common.
The headline font used on the inside spread is unknown. It shares attributes with ITC Tiffany which is based on typefaces from this era.
