These are so beautiful—thanks for posting them. The apple/orange concept is such a nice metaphor for New York / Los Angeles.
I’m curious about the difference between the roles of “Designer” and “Typographer” as credited above. These are now pretty much considered to be one function, in most cases at least. Does anyone have thoughts on why this was two different roles?
My guess is that this credit refers to the person who set and (in phototype) exposed the type according to the designer’s instructions. Before digital publishing (in which the designer has all the tools for setting type) these roles were often separated.
