The typewritten text on the 43p value is probably just that — made with an actual typewriter. As far as fonts go, FF Elementa comes pretty close.
Florian — Birdsall is a big fan of Berthold’s Schreibmaschinenschrift, which he used for his own Notes on Book Design that very same year. Could it be used here as well ?
