  1. The lettered main title on the cover is closely modeled after Rudolf Koch’s Wallau, which is also used for the smaller text. The title page is set in Deutsche Schrift, also by Koch.

    Note that the ligature for ‘ch’ is maintained in letterspaced text. The Italian-derived “a-cappella” is rendered in Roman type. Both oddities were the norm in German blackletter typesetting.
